
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Rajasthan on Thursday, where he laid the foundation of the 2800 MW Mahi Banswara Nuclear Power Project and unveiled major development initiatives for the state. The total investment announced across the country amounted to ₹1,22,000 crore, of which Rajasthan received projects worth ₹1,08,468 crore. These projects span energy, water, railways, and employment sectors, promising a new era of growth for the state.
Mahi Banswara Nuclear Project:
PM Modi inaugurated the 2800 MW Mahi Banswara Nuclear Power Project with an estimated cost of ₹42,000 crore. This marks Rajasthan’s second nuclear energy project and is expected to revolutionize the state’s energy sector.
Renewable Energy and Irrigation:
In addition, a 590 MW renewable energy project in Bikaner, 15.5 GW of power transmission lines, and 15 drinking water schemes across 12 districts were inaugurated. Saur energy initiatives include 1400 MW solar projects, the 925 MW Nokh Solar Park, and 895 MW solar power plants. Irrigation projects such as the Isarda Dam and Dholpur Lift scheme were also launched, along with road construction in seven districts. Sewage projects in Didwana-Kuchaman and Jhunjhunu, a 250-bed RBM hospital in Bharatpur, and an IT development center were inaugurated.
Rail Services Expansion:
Rajasthan received two new Vande Bharat Express trains – Bikaner-Delhi Cantt and Jodhpur-Delhi Cantt – providing fast and comfortable travel. Additionally, the Udaipur-Chandigarh Express train was launched.
Employment Opportunities for Youth:
15,000 young individuals were handed government job appointment letters, with PM Modi personally presenting letters to two youths. Water resource projects worth ₹20,833 crore were also inaugurated, further opening new avenues for growth, prosperity, and employment in Rajasthan.
